About the Director
Greetings! My name is Christopher D'Allura and I am the band director here at Eastway Middle School! Allow me to tell you a little bit about myself:
I currently hold a bachelors degree in music education, which was earned at The Crane School of Music at SUNY (State University of New York) College at Potsdam. My performance area of concentration is woodwinds, specifically saxophone and clarinet. I started playing the saxophone in 4th grade and I still continue up until now. I was born, raised and attended college in New York. My wife and I moved down to Charlotte, North Carolina in June 2012 to pursue teaching careers. She is currently the Pastoral Associate/Director of Religious Education at our church. I am also a music instructor at Music & Arts in Concord Mills, NC in which I teach saxophone and clarinet lessons. I am also a member of the South Central District Bandmaster's Association (SCDBA), North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA) and National Association for Music Education (NAfME). In my spare time, I love to spend time with my friends and my wife, two boys and dog!
I currently hold Music K-12 certification in North Carolina! This year, I am in my 9th year of teaching and I am excited to continue building the band program here at Eastway Middle school! There are some exciting and new things in store for the program this year so please be sure to check back for updates! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. You will find all of my contact information on the "Contact Me" page of this website!
